CASE STUDY: SDK INTEGRATION

Balanced

Cross-Network DeFi App

For cross-chain DeFi apps that want to offer intent-based trades, native stablecoin integration, and the ability to lend and borrow across chains.

The Partner

Balanced is a multi-purpose DeFi app that provides the ability to trade, earn, and borrow across chains. Originally a community-governed protocol, Balanced integrated SODAX's full-stack infrastructure to demonstrate how complex DeFi products can operate across EVM and non-EVM networks while providing a consistent experience for their users.

The Challenge

Every protocol that wants to offer assets across multiple networks faces the same structural barriers:

Bridges are risky

Liquidity is fragmented across networks

Adding new networks requires significant engineering effort and capital to bootstrap pools

Balanced originally relied on liquidity providers to support new token listings, and every network connection compounded the development complexity. Users had to stomach slippage, and scaling was slow and capital-intensive.

The Solution

SODAX's SDK significantly reduced infrastructure complexity. Balanced gained 4 core capabilities:

1

Faster Cross-Network Execution

Previously: People encountered slippage with most transactions, and had to wait 1-5 minutes for each trade.

Now: People specify their intent to trade across any of 12 networks, and the Core SDK's intent-based solver settles it in ~20 seconds.

2

Multi-Chain Money Market

Previously: Isolated stablecoin loans

Now: Earn and borrow from the flexible money market. Deposit multiple assets as collateral to earn interest, and borrow any asset from any of the 12 networks Balanced is connected to.

3

Unified Liquidity Layer

Previously: Balanced funded and maintained liquidity pools for each asset on each network.

Now: Balanced accesses SODAX's $6M+ protocol-owned liquidity via the Core SDK, without managing per-network pools.

4

Native Stablecoin Integration

bnUSD is natively mintable and redeemable across 12 networks via the Core SDK. Users can borrow, move, and earn yield within a single interface.

At a glance

  • ~20 second execution*
  • 12 networks accessible
  • 1:1 cross-chain transfers
  • No custom smart contracts required

Balanced Results

Execution Speed & Integration

Integration took weeks. Trade executions now settle fast, with low-slippage execution powered by SODAX' solver network.

Cross-Chain Stablecoin at Scale

bnUSD now generates revenue across supported networks through borrowing, and cross-network movement, expanding Balanced's revenue potential.

Full-Stack Platform Enabled

Balanced evolved from a single-network protocol into a full cross-network DeFi platform, offering swaps across 12 networks, flexible money market, a native stablecoin with yield, and a capital-efficient design.

Trade tokenized stocks

Balanced users can now access xStocks directly, with SODAX handling execution no matter which network the user starts from. xStocks are backed 1:1 by their real-world equivalents and rank among the most widely adopted tokenized equities in the market.

SODAX Integration

Foundation Layer

@sodax/sdk

This is the core logic that powers the entire ecosystem. It provides the raw functional modules required to build with SODAX programmatically.

Connection Layer

@sodax/wallet-sdk-react

An opinionated wrapper optimized for React applications, providing pre-built context providers and state management for wallet connections.

Experience Layer

@sodax/dapp-kit

The fastest way to build with SODAX. This is an opinionated collection of UI components, hooks, and utilities that leverages the layers below it.
