CASE STUDY: SDK INTEGRATION
XLM Domains
Stellar Naming & NFT DeFi Ecosystem
For apps on non-EVM networks that want EVM users to onboard with the wallet they already have, controlling a native smart wallet without ever leaving MetaMask.
The Partner
XLM Domains is the gateway to the XLD DeFi ecosystem on Stellar. Users register .xlm domains as their on-chain identity, trade NFT domains and other NFTs, swap tokens, and scale positions in the yield-bearing XLD Vault. It brings naming, NFTs, and DeFi together in one Stellar-native app
The Challenge
XLM Domains' application for SODAX is to let EVM users onboard into Stellar without setting up a new wallet. A Stellar-native app that wants to reach the EVM audience runs into the same barriers:
1. EVM users have no Stellar wallet. Onboarding forces them to create and fund a brand new
2. Cross-ecosystem capital is stuck. Funds sitting on EVM chains cannot easily reach Stellar to pay for domains, NFTs, or DeFi activity.
3. Two ecosystems, two mental models. Asking EVM-native users to learn Stellar tooling adds friction at exactly the moment you want them to convert.
For an app that wants to grow beyond its home network, the wallet barrier is the first and largest point of drop-off. Reaching EVM users means meeting them in the wallet they already use.
The Solution
XLM Domains is building its SODAX integration around Stellar smart wallets, so EVM users can control a Stellar smart wallet directly from MetaMask. The goal is to let someone bring their existing EVM wallet, control a Stellar account, and use the full XLM Domains experience without switching wallets. The integration is designed around these capabilities:
1
MetaMask-Controlled Stellar Smart Wallets
EVM users control a Stellar smart wallet directly from MetaMask. There is no separate Stellar wallet to install or manage. The wallet they already trust becomes the key to a Stellar-native account.
2
Cross-Chain Funding via Intents
SODAX intents are used to fund the Stellar smart wallet from other chains, so capital can flow from where EVM users already hold it into their Stellar account to power domains, NFTs, and DeFi.
3
Native Stellar Token Balances
The smart wallet holds Stellar token balances across six whitelisted tokens: XLM, XLD, AQUA, USDC, USTRY, and SODA. Users can hold and move value in the assets the ecosystem runs on.
4
Bridging to Fresh Stellar Wallets
To permanently support bridging to fresh Stellar wallets (such as Smart Wallets, Passkey wallets, or newly generated exchange addresses).

Quote
"When I researched multi-chain functionality on Stellar. I had a lot of options. But I wasn't interested in building a bridge to nowhere... SODAX appealed to me because it's more than just a way to get funds from one chain to another. It's a way for users from other chains to interact with Stellar apps natively! When I arrived at the SODAX website their AI analyzed my app and made recommendations on how I could integrate. I was totally blown away by this feature and it definitely finished onboarding me. "

XLM Domains Results
EVM Onboarding into Stellar
XLM Domains can bring EVM users into the Stellar ecosystem using MetaMask, removing the new-wallet barrier that would otherwise block that entire audience.
Cross-Ecosystem Capital, Onboarded
With intent-based funding, capital can move from EVM chains into a Stellar smart wallet, so users can pay for domains, NFTs, and DeFi activity with funds they already hold elsewhere.
One App, Both Audiences
By meeting EVM users in their existing wallet, XLM Domains can serve Stellar-native and EVM-native users through a single experience, widening the top of its funnel without fragmenting the product.
SODAX Integration
Specific integration work was carried out for XLM Domains. The team uses SODAX intents to fund the Stellar smart wallet from other chains, and SODAX provided technical support to confirm the smart wallet is funded end to end.
