With sponsored account activation on Stellar, any developer can now open smooth user flows into the Stellar ecosystem. Funding a Stellar smart wallet from other blockchain network and wallet ecosystems.

The SODAX execution and liquidity system now includes sponsored account activation for Stellar: a SODAX partner can now fund brand-new Stellar wallets in a single step, no manual user top-up required first.
Requested first by XLM Domains, sponsored activation opens Stellar user flows to the cross-network space.
The feature shipped in the latest version of the SODAX SDK, with a direct wallet-status checks for developers.
Every blockchain network has its own rules for what counts as a wallet. On Stellar, an account doesn't exist until it's initialized with a small reserve of XLM, currently 1 XLM. Send funds to a brand-new Stellar address before that happens, and the network rejects the transaction outright, even when everything upstream worked exactly as intended, including a SODAX intent moving value across blockchain networks, what SODAX calls cross-network execution.
That's a real problem for anyone trying to build a smooth experience to bring new users onto Stellar for the first time. SODAX closes that gap with sponsored account activation, so a partner's users can receive funds on Stellar the moment their wallet exists, no manual top-up step first.
XLM Domains integrated the SODAX SDK to provide cross-network trading and allow Metamask users on EVM blockchains to control a Stellar smart wallet directly from their usual wallet ecosystem. Building that flow surfaced the activation problem directly: a user's brand-new Stellar wallet needs to receive funds from another network before it can do anything, and Stellar won't accept a standard payment into a wallet that doesn't exist yet.
To unlock XLM Domains build, SODAX built sponsored account activation into the infrastructure. This new feature checks a destination's Stellar status ahead of delivery. If the account doesn't exist yet, it creates and funds it in one step, using the full payout amount rather than shaving off a reserve, so the user still receives exactly what was quoted. Trustlines for non-native assets like USDC are handled the same way, prompted only when the specific token requires one.
Because the fix lives in the infra rather than a one-off patch for one partner, every partner inherits sponsored account activation on Stellar today, without any extra work. Any developer can now open smooth user flows into the Stellar ecosystem from other blockchain networks.
